The Olympic stadium in the heart of the city of Turin is a historic building from 1930 and the existing structures are subject to the restrictions of the Superintendency of Environmental and Architectural Heritage.<\/p>\n

It was completely renovated and equipped with a cable-stayed roof over the stands for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics. A lot of interventions were also carried out for the Olympic ceremonies, such as the expansion to 35,000 spectators, using temporary structures, and the construction of the Olympic brazier.<\/p>\n

After the Olympic event it returned to being a football venue for 28,000 spectators, hosting the home matches of the Torino Football Club and Juventus FC until 2011.<\/p>\n

It is currently one of the three Italian stadiums (along with the Juventus Stadium and at the Olympic Stadium in Rome) to fall into “UEFA Category 4”, with the highest technical level.<\/p>\n
